Where to begin?

It is a typically changeable autumn day here in rural Sligo. One minute sunshine, the next torrential rain. My dogs bouncing beside me then suddenly disappearing back up to the yard and into a sheltering stable before I realize the horizontal Atlantic rain has crashed in from the coast. We live a quarter of a mile from the beach,a stoney affair with only a mean portion of pebbly sand at its very edge but bleak and beautiful all the same. Many an hour spent picking up firewood, shells and curiosities when the weather allows for standing upright!

I count myself very lucky to have found my paradise, it's taken many a year and numerous false starts but here I am relishing the future with all it's pleasures and pains. So let me fill anyone in who may be reading this. I share my small stone cottage, 2 bedrooms one each side of a main room,,once the only source of warmth and cooking facilities and not much better now some would say, with my dogs and occasionally my daughter. I have a small kitchen and shower room attached to the back which does feel as though it may detach on rough nights! I have four ponies but thats another story.

I hope to blog about the garden, my simple food and show you how I live on less but have a full and happy life.

Debbie

  1. Hello, welcome to Blogland. I will have to look up Sligo, as I'm not sure where it is. Look forward to reading more.
